About

Dr. AHM Mehbub Anwar is a Research Fellow in the Transportation and Infrastructure Team at KAPSARC. He has over 18 years of experience in land and maritime transport and has delivered evidence-based research outcomes. Currently, he leads the Energy Decision Model for Maritime project, which provides advisory inputs for the Kingdom’s energy ecosystem. His research focuses on future port activity, seaborne trade, shipping energy demand, energy efficiency, and transition. Previously, he worked as a Transport Planner for Transport for New South Wales and as a Researcher at the University of Wollongong in Australia. In his daily research, he utilizes advanced statistical modeling and simulation to evaluate and achieve present and future transportation needs. Dr Mehbub has completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in transportation with a commendation for an outstanding thesis through the University of Wollongong, Australia. He has a Master of Engineering in transportation from Hiroshima University, Japan.
